| M42 with an exposure of 15 seconds
at an ISO 1600. NGC 2392, The Eskimo Nebulae was shot in Houston with a Nexstar 5, at an exposure of 8 seconds at an ISO speed of 800. It is just a great feeling just to get the color & light of the bluish planetary nebulae from Houston. |
| I shot these with a Coronado PST & a Nikon
CoolPix 4500 at asa 100 at f/10.3. The exposure time was 1/15-130 for the Solar Prominences, 1/1000 for the Sun detail at the East & Western Poles. I learned that to get the Solar Prominences, You need a faster f/ speed.! This was done at 5:30 PM on Sat., April 22, 2006 in My backyard in Houston, Texas. |
| I shot Our Sun with a Nikon CoolPix 4500,
connected to a 32mm Tele Vu plossl eyepiece (12.5x) for 1/4 - 1/8th of a second (ASA 100) thru a Coronado P.S.T. H-Alpha Solar telescope. There's a lot of little Solar Prominences (hot gas) shooting off the edge of the Sun. |
| The seeing on Mars was not that great but
here is what My Nexstar 11 GPS telescope got at 12:30 am, Sunday morning. The temp was 58 degrees. I shot Mars with the 11" connected to 6mm Tele Vu Radian eyepiece via a Nikon CoolpIX 4500 for a focus of 1/4 - 1/8 of a second. The darker pix of Mars was taken with a Tele Vu Mars filter. |
| With Mars having another major dust storm,
I recorded these 3 images (Nov. 3-4, 2005). They were taken by My Nexstar11 GPS, via 6mm Radian eyepiece connected to a Nikon CoolPix 4500 for 1/4 of a second at asa 100. Notice the rotation. |
| Here is M 100 along with NGC 4322, NGC
4312, the largest of the 3 companions and NGC 4328. It was shot at the HAS Site with the 8" Schmidt Camera on hypered 2415 for 10 mintes at f/ 1.5. |

taken. Uranus-Shot with a 6mm Radian connected to a Nexstar11 in My backyard for 2 seconds. Jupiters' moon was shot using an eyepiece projection, conected to C-14 on 400 film for 1 second. M51 was shot ( as well as M99 & 100 region , and NGC 3184) for 10 minutes with the 8"Schmidt Camera ( at f/ 1.5) on hypered 2415. There is a light scratch in the middle of the picture of M100. Finally, M16 & 17 was shot on hypered Fugi RD 100 for 9 minutes with the 8"Schmidt Camera in Ft. Davis, on Skyline Drive, at the State Park. |

| The M8 was Art Ciampi's favorite shot at
one time! It was done in Ft. Davis, with a 135 mm f/ 2 on fugi RD 100 for
20 minutes. The Corona Borealis Cluster of Galaxies was shot at the HAS Site hypered 2415 for nine minutes. The little fuzzies between the 2 stars are the galaxies Logan Rimes of Thomas Photo blew this little group of galaxies as much as he could on the wall of Thomas PhotoLab. Finally, Omega Centauri, shot by Mother, Edna, in Ft. Davis, shot with the 8"Schmidt Camera on hypered Fugi RD 100 for 3 minutes. Pretty good for someone who has never guided, much less shot a picture of a globular! |
